How to move or copy data from one Sharepoint folder to a folder on another Sharepoint site:
If you’re already using Sharepoint, here’s the process to move data from one site to another, such as to the new Public “Shared-Internal LBC” site:
Note: If your department has a large amount of data to move (over 250 MB), please contact help@lbc.edu for assistance.
Hover over the folder you’d like to move and click on the 3 horizontal dots (ellipses) to get a menu, and choose Move to:
Select “Shared-Internal LBC Site” from the “Quick Access” list on the left-hand side of the window.
If it doesn’t appear on the list, cancel and go back to your Sharepoint site. Click on “Shared-Internal LBC Site” under Featured Links, which will open the Shared-Internal site itself. In the upper right-hand corner of that site, it will probably say “Not following”. Click on the little star to Follow the site.
Then repeat the “Move to” instructions. This time Shared-Internal should appear as a selection.
Browse to your department’s folder on the Shared-Internal site and click “Move here”. In the upper right-hand corner of the page, you will see a revolving “Moving 1 item” or similar message:
You will see a confirmation when the move completes.
